ABOUT JARE BEAR
Jare Bear, is a Los Angeles based producer known for fusing Pop, Hip-Hop, and R&B into his indie EDM style. Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Jare Bear first began his music career at the age of 12 when he taught himself how to play the piano. At 16 he picked up the guitar, and finally began producing in his freshman year of college, at the University of Cincinnati's College Conservatory of Music in 2016. In December of 2018, he graduated from CCM and moved to Los Angeles. Now, after several years of intense introspection and learning he's all set to make waves as Jare Bear.
Jare Bear released his first single, Lose You Too (feat. Emerson) , in July of 2020 and managed to garner over 100,000 streams on his first release. He found Emerson on his Instagram “Explore” page after she posted a clip of one of her songs, and was immediately captured by her voice. He reached out to her and within hours the hook and melody for Lose You Too were written. The song is about knowing you need to end the relationship with your significant other, but while you’ve fallen out with the person romantically, you don’t necessarily want them out of your life all together. A heart wrenching experience that both Jare Bear and Emerson were oddly enough experiencing at similar times.
Wish You Weren’t Always Right (feat. Tricky Ethan), the second single from Jare Bear, was released November 2020 and has a much “grungier” feel than his first track. Coming from a different perspective than Lose You Too, W.Y.W.A.R. is about you being the one that wasn’t good enough in the relationship - not being able to work on or change your flaws, and the other person leaving. You can’t live without this person, but they can’t live with you. This song is the product of a “small world.” Jare Bear and Tricky Ethan both come from Cincinnati, OH where they attended the same high school and college, but never actually crossed paths in person. Jare learned of Tricky Ethan’s talent after watching a live performance of “Out of the Slumps” on Bearcast’s Queen City Sessions YouTube channel and immediately reached out. Just weeks after reaching out, Wish You Weren’t Always Right, was born and has amassed over 130,000 streams to date.
Now, Jare Bear is posed to release his third, and favorite track to date, Mean It (feat. Emerson) on February 12th. The two reunite to bring their listeners an emotionally charged, pop hit about giving second chances to someone that you know you probably shouldn’t, but because you trust that they mean it when they say they’ll do better this time around you can’t help yourself. Mean It can be described as the love child of LANY, The 1975, and Sasha Sloan because of the dreamy Wurlitzer keys that are the backbone of the entire track, the infectious and moving guitar riffs sprinkled throughout, and the character and emotion behind the lyrics. A music video for Mean It is also in the works in partnership with Mixed Media LA, set to be released just after the song.
